چکیده
Background: Based on the previous studies, antibiotics can have affected biological properties of biomass and fouling mixed liquor in aeration tank. The present study was conducted to explore mechanisms membrane bioreactor (MBR) system during treatment wastewater containing erythromycin (ERY) antibiotic under several suspended solids (MLSS) concentrations. Methods: A lab-scale two-chamber MBR equipped with a polypropylene hollow fiber submerged fed synthetic different initial concentrations ERY. operated constant flux mode MLSS (5.0-13.0 g/L) obtained results were evaluated using individual combined models. Results: variation had not significantly kind best-fitted model. From models, standard model indicated best performance for permeate prediction (R2 adj>0.997). For all studied concentrations, R2 adj values models higher than 0.986 demonstrated good fitness compared Overall, cake-intermediate showed lowest fitness, cake-complete complete-standard most successful filtrated volume comparison other Conclusion: This that mechanistic are suitable systems ERY removal wide range provide valuable information full-scale systems.

The Study of Organic Removal Efficiency and Membrane Fouling in a Submerged Membrane Bioreactor Treating Vegetable Oil Wastewater
The characterizations of vegetable oil wastewater (VOW) are unpleasant odor, dark color, and high organic contents, including large amounts of oil and grease (O&G), chemical oxygen demand (COD), fatty acids and lipids. Therefore, VOWs should be treated efficiently to avoid the environment pollution. The aim of present study was the investigation of VOW biological treatment using membrane biorea...
متن کاملA new insight into membrane fouling mechanism in submerged membrane bioreactor: osmotic pressure during cake layer filtration.
Big gap between experimental filtration resistance of cake layer formed on membrane surface and the hydraulic resistance calculated through the Carman-Kozeny equation, suggested the existence of a new membrane fouling mechanism: osmotic pressure during cake layer filtration in SMBR system. An osmotic pressure model based on chemical potential difference was then proposed. Simulation of the mode...
متن کاملA comparison study on membrane fouling in a sponge-submerged membrane bioreactor and a conventional membrane bioreactor.
This study compared membrane fouling in a sponge-submerged membrane bioreactor (SSMBR) and a conventional membrane bioreactor (CMBR) based on sludge properties when treating synthetic domestic wastewater. In the CMBR, soluble microbial products (SMP) in activated sludge were a major contributor for initial membrane fouling and presented higher concentration in membrane cake layer. Afterwards, m...
متن کاملMembrane fouling control and enhanced phosphorus removal in an aerated submerged membrane bioreactor using modified green bioflocculant.
This study aims at developing a modified green bioflocculant (GBF) for membrane fouling control and enhanced phosphorus removal in a conventional aerated submerged membrane bioreactor (SMBR) to treat a high strength domestic wastewater (primary sewage treated effluent) for reuse. The GBF was evaluated based on long-term operation of a lab-scale SMBR. These results showed that SMBR system could ...
متن کاملThermodynamic analysis of membrane fouling in a submerged membrane bioreactor and its implications.
The thermodynamic interactions between membrane and sludge flocs in a submerged membrane bioreactor (MBR) were investigated. It was found that Lewis acid-base (AB) interaction predominated in the total interactions. The interaction energy composition of membrane-sludge flocs combination was quite similar to that of membrane-bovine serum albumin (BSA) combination, indicating the critical role of...
